The American Outlaw Debuts at Cordova International Raceway
“We headed to Mt Vernon Illinois to test it in Benton and we got rained out there and decided to drive over to Cordova. We placed a call to our good friends at Lagana Racing and they helped get us into the track to test during the World Series of Drag Racing. I had never been to the track before. It is a beautiful establishment.
We made three test hits on Saturday. We made a test to 400 foot and I shut it off and the numbers showed it really good. Then I drove it to the eighth and we ran a high 3.70. And at about 11:00 that night, we decided to make a full pull down the quarter mile and it went 3.70 at 214 to the eighth so it was on a run. About 900 feet it drifted out of the groove I fought it back and I looked down a quarter of the windshield and noticed what I thought was fuel or oil, and actually it was condensation coming off the blower, so I lifted with everything being brand new and I didn’t want to hurt any parts. So over all it was a good weekend. I got a lot of people who helped me get to this point so I didn’t want to screw it up.
Ending up at Cordova turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The track prep was perfection and the staff was great. The American Outlaw is really going to turn into something.”
